The Marlin 336 is the rifle that started the feud. Available in .30/30 Winchester and .35 Remington, hunters have argued for more than a half-century which one is best. Richard MannPosts: 1,636. I replaced the band and the problem was solved. Jan 28, 2015 · The 35 Remington is a fine cartridge and has withstood the test of time since 1908 for good reason. The Marlin Lever Gun is excellent for use in brush country because it is easy to mount and gives opportunity for a quick second shot when needed.
