I want to add a RAM stick that is 42mm high. Use the formula for NH-D15: Total Height = 165 + (x - 32) Total Height = 165 + (42 - 32) ; 42mm is my RAM height; 32mm is the RAM clearance under 140mm fan. Total Height = 165 + 10. Noctua lists the maximum height of NH-D15 as 165mm. I don't mind the RAM clearance cuz that I can solve with cooler/fan orientation.

The D15's front fan does sit over ram, and the Ripjaws V is taller than the 32mm normally allowed beneath the fan, so it will need to be raised. Ripjaws V is 42mm tall, so the front fan needs to be raised 11mm - 1 extra mm so that the fan and ram aren't touching. The NZXT H510 has a max clearance of 165mm as well and my NH-D15 fits fine, even with heatsink covers attached. However, I can't mount the second 140mm fan.
